SEO Authority Capture
How we read your priority queries the way search and AI answer engines read them, and where you can capture authority.
The surface we map
SEO Authority Capture maps how your owned pages and the top-ranking competitor pages read to two off-platform surfaces at once: classic search results, and the AI answer engines that now sit in front of them, the ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews layer that decides which pages get cited in a generated answer. For each priority query, the object is the content that currently ranks and how citation-ready it is.
Your analytics show the traffic you already get. A generic SEO retainer reports keyword positions. Neither reads the structural signals an answer engine uses to decide what to quote, which is increasingly where the query is actually resolved. This program audits that generative-answer readiness against the pages that currently win each query.
The evidence standard
Every claim about a ranking, a position, or a competitor URL must trace to the search results actually pulled for that query; URLs, positions, and authority signals are never fabricated, and a query whose results could not be pulled is marked unavailable rather than filled in. Every generative-readiness sub-score, across eight dimensions such as extractability, answerability, and heading structure, must cite a specific structural observation in the page content that was crawled, not a general impression. Timelines are calibrated honestly to your domain authority, and a low domain authority is written up as a stated headwind rather than hidden behind an optimistic date.
This is the standard the analysis is generated under, specified in the strategy and scoring prompts. To be precise: this program's automated enforcement gate is still deferred pending Commercial Activation, so this page describes the standard the analysis runs to, not a separate mechanical drop gate. We claim the standard where it is a standard and do not claim enforcement the code does not yet run.
How it works
- Scope the queries. At intake you provide your company URL, your priority queries (five, seven, or ten depending on tier), your market, and your current domain authority.
- Pull the field. For each query we pull the top-ranking results, then crawl your homepage and the top ranking pages to their text so the analysis reads the real content, not a summary of it.
- Score and strategize. Each ranking page is scored on the eight generative-readiness dimensions, and a per-query strategy is produced: search intent, the ranking landscape, a recommended content angle, descriptive backlink target categories, and a domain-authority-calibrated timeline.
Accuracy and limitations
- Search data depends on availability for the chosen market. Where results cannot be pulled for a query, that query is marked unavailable rather than estimated.
- Page crawls can fail. A page whose content could not be retrieved is scored as unavailable, not guessed.
- The generative-readiness score is an extractability and answerability heuristic read from a content snapshot. It is not a prediction of how a specific AI engine will rank or cite on a given day.
- Backlink targets are described as categories of publication, not named outlets, unless a specific outlet already appears in the pulled results.
- Timelines are calibrated estimates, not guarantees. A low domain authority extends them and is disclosed as a headwind.
What we do not claim
This program does not guarantee a ranking position or a citation in any answer engine, and it does not claim to model a search algorithm. It reads what currently ranks, scores how citation-ready it is, and recommends where to capture authority. The execution of that recommendation is a separate, ongoing effort.
Engagement
